CALL FOR PAPERS AND PANELS
6th Regional Conference on International Security/Internal Safety (IS/IS)
March 23 - 24, 2012

Proposals are requested for panels, roundtables and papers for the 6th Annual Regional Conference. The 1st IS/IS Conference was held at Mississippi State University in March 2007, sponsored by the Mississippi State History Department, the MSU Center for Historical Studies, the MSU College of Arts and Sciences and the Society for Military History.
This year IS/IS will be held in historic Natchitoches, LA, the oldest European settlement in the Louisiana Purchase territory. Northwestern State University's Department of Criminal Justice, History, and Social Sciences is hosting the two-day conference.
Proposals for Panels, Roundtables, and Papers are requested in the areas of international security and internal safety from historical, political, security and comparative perspectives. Suggested topics include but are not limited to: terrorism, cyber-terrorism and counter-terrorism; homeland security at the federal, state and/or local levels; proliferation, non-proliferation and counter-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction; the changing nature of warfare; etc.
Those wishing to serve as panel chairs and/or discussants are encouraged to participate.
Proposal deadline is February 2, 2012, with papers delivered to panel discussants due by March 7, 2012. Registration fees are $40.00 for faculty, no charge for graduate students. For information and to submit proposals, contact:
