The Social Sciences involve the study of human interactions with other humans, the environment, and culture. The academic majors in the Department of Social Sciences are:

  • Heritage Resources studies the preservation of our cultural heritage in art, music, and the built environment.
  • History describes, interprets, and explains the past actions and experiences of individuals, groups, and societies to better understand the present.
  • Political Science focuses on the process of governing nationally and internationally, systems of government, political behavior, and public policy.
  • Sociology studies the origins and workings of society and the way society shapes our attitudes and behaviors.

The School also offers minors in Anthropology, Historic Preservation, Geography, Political Science, History, Sociology, Social Sciences and Philosophy and advises all Pre-law students.
